Hello I am looking to integrate your appointment book system into our Point of Sale system.

if we select your system, I plan on having my developers synch the service providers and services with our database via the API

but wondering about being able to customize the booking info modal that displays when the user clicks on the appointment in the appointment book.

can we add a button for Checkout – that will bring the user and the transaction information to our system. is there a api link for this or something different?

attached is a picture of what I want to accomplish.

Adding just button is not possible by API. Your developers will need to make full client booking code.
